Sunday first update
3 teams win championships in the Mite division today
By Alex Dodt
| West Coast Heat, Mission Arizona Stars, and RBK Bulldogs have each won a Pacific Cup championship today.
Sunday is starting to wind down now, PeeWees are getting close to finishing up, PeeWee AAA will start real soon, but first here's an update on the Mite divisions that ended today...
Mite A:
This championship game would be an all Bulldogs final. RBK Bulldogs 97 beat the Mission Arizona Stars to reach the final while the RBK Bulldogs 96 defeated the Western Capitals. The Final was an epic defensive battle. Great goaltending on both ends and a lot of chances for both sides, but the game remained tied at 0 heading into overtime. Then, early in the extra period, Bulldogs 97 finally got the puck in the net to pull off the upset against their older Bulldogs brothers and take home the Mite A championship.
Mite AA Select:
The Las Vegas Raptors won a close one in a playoff game over Western Capitals White to earn a spot in the championship game. But the Raptors were no match for the top seeded Mission Arizona Stars Red. The Stars got a balanced scoring attack from up and down the roster as they dominated from start to finish, winning the Mite AA Select title in convincing fashion 7-1.
Mite AA Elite:
RBK Bulldogs Blue edged the Tour OC Blades White in one semifinal, in the other semifinal West Coast Heat beat Tour OC Blades 96 easily to advance to the final. The championship game was back and forth with both teams holding momemtum for long stretches, but it would be the West Coast Heat pulling away in the end. They added a few quick goals to win the game 5-3 and take home the Mite AA Elite cup.
That's it for now, check back real soon to find out what happens in the 5 PeeWee championships up for grabs.
