Second weekend gets started

By Alex Dodt
Squirt AA, Bantam A, and Junior divisions are under way on the first day of weekend #2.

I have to cut out early tonight and there's still more Bantam A Select and Elite games to be played, but here's an update on the games played so far...

Squirt AA
Tour OC Blades White have jumped out in front of the pack early on, they won their first 2 games against Western Capitals Red and Bandits. OC Blades 95 beat RBK Bulldogs Yellow in their only game of the day. Bandits pulled off an exciting upset over the Capitals Red, winning it 2-1. Bandits have a 1-1 record after the day's games. Tomorrow, it's a lot more round robin games in Squirt AA. Several teams play their first games tomorrow morning and this division will split into AA Select and AA Elite for the playoffs on Sunday.

Bantam A Select
A lot of ties in this division's first bunch of games. NorCal Extreme, Force, Mission Jr. Habs, and Chula Vista Hawks are tied at the top of the leaderboard, all with a record of 1-0-1. NorCal tied the Force and Chula Vista tied the Jr. Habs. Revision Devil Dogs Red are right behind that pack with a 1-1 record. Also in the hunt, Bandits and RBK Bulldogs White, who tied each other earlier today. Tomorrow, Bantam A Select and Bantam A Elite will both finish up with all their playoff games leading up to the championship games in the evening.

Junior
All the round robin games for this division were played today. AKS Mission 88 was dominant, beating Western Capitals and NorCal Riot while only allowing 2 goals. Revision Devil Dogs also looked good in victories over NorCal Riot and Mission Impossible. Mission Impossible picked up a win 3-2 over Western Capitals in the last round robin game. That sets up tomorrow playoff games like this: Western Capitals play NorCal Riot in the 4th seed against the 5th seed. The winner of that will play AKS 88 in the semifinals. Then, in the other semifinal, Devil Dogs matchup with Mission Impossible

All that is going on tomorrow, plus 3 more Revision Skills competitions and the Atom and Bantam AAA divisions start up. Thanks to Tommy Tuohy for his help in this blog and everybody check back tomorrow more scores and highlights from the 07 Pacific Cup Finals.
