Block Schedule is set for Arizona on April 14-15. Limited Space for Anaheim Tourney!!
By Pacific Cup
|

We have worked out a block schedule that is user friendly for the teams looking to play in both the Pacific Cup tournament and the AAU tournament on the weekend of April 14-15 in Arizona. The Pacific Cup tournament will be held at the Arizona Sports Complex and the AAU tournament will be held at The Castle on that same weekend.
Here is the block schedule for the Pacific Cup tournament:
Friday, April 13
If necessary, we will host games between the Colorado Tour Stallions, who will have already arrived in Phoenix, and other teams based out of the Phoenix area. We may run games in a variety of divisions.
Saturday, April 14
Mite
Pee Wee
Midget
Sunday, April 15
Squirt
Bantam
As you know, we also have a tournament set for April 14-15 at the Anaheim Hockey Club. Due to increased registration for Anaheim’s Spring League, they need to take some time back for weekend of April 14-15.
On Saturday, April 14, we will need to have the tournament completed by 8PM. On Sunday, April 15, we will need to have the tournament completed by 4PM. As a result, we will not be able to accommodate as many teams for this Anaheim tournament.
If you’re closed out of Anaheim or if you are just looking for an opportunity to compete against some fresh faces, please look toward the Arizona tournament. This is a rare opportunity to play against a very quality organization, the Tour Stallions of Colorado.
The Tour Stallions, from Colorado, will be bringing a team in 6 separate divisions for the Pacific Cup tournament at the Arizona Sports Complex on April 14-15.
“We will destroy those Pacific Cup teams! Especially those teams from So. Cal.! If they know what’s good for them, they’ll stay home! They have no shot against any of our Stallions teams!!”
- Ted Goodlin, Manager of the Tour Stallions Elite Travel Program.
OK, Ted didn’t really say that. If you know Ted, you would know that he would never say such a thing. …But, now that we have your attention, here is what’s happening.
The Tour Stallions are coming with the following teams:
Atom AA
Mite AA
Squirt AA
Pee Wee AA (Stallions ’92)
Bantam AAA (Stallions ’91)
Midget AA
These are the best and brightest from the Stallions organization. Head Coach, CJ Yoder, spearheads the program and has taken these teams to many award ceremonies and championships.
This will prove to be a very exciting weekend. This is the first time the Tour Stallions have ventured into Pacific Cup territory and they are looking forward to the opportunity.
“The Pacific Cup has a long-standing history of producing championship teams and highly talented players. We are looking forward to the opportunity to compete against them. It will be a good test for us.”
- CJ Yoder, Head Coach, Tour Stallions
Team Excalibur will also be adding their talented squads in Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam. With all of the other teams from Arizona, including the host Mission Arizona Stars, this will be one tournament that you won’t want to miss.
Space will be very limited, as we will be using a single rink for the entire weekend. Interested teams need to register very quickly!
We will be adding information, regarding the block schedule, very soon. The Pacific Cup is working closely with Dave Marmorstein, who is hosting the AAU Qualifier that same weekend at The Castle. The block schedule will allow the Stallions an opportunity to play in both events.
Many years ago, we used to host one to two events each season called “Pacific Cup International” tournaments. Some of you probably remember playing in one of those events. In these tournaments, teams from outside the region were allowed to participate in a Pacific Cup tournament. It was always a great experience for the traveling teams, as well as for those here in the Pacific Cup region. Historically, we have had teams come in from Florida, Missouri, New York and Texas.
All teams in the tournament are equally eligible for the tournament awards. In terms of Pacific Cup points, PCH teams will move up one placement to the extent they have been displaced by a team from outside of the region. It’s a win-win situation for everyone. The only exception is that a team has to win outright to get the 10 points. The most a team could move up to would be 9 points.
So, if you’re looking for some guaranteed great competition and some fresh faces, get your team registered for the April 14-15 event at the Arizona Sports Complex.

We hope to see you there!
